A must eat is Kokoro's special tonkatsu with Cherry-Leaf Sauce!!!
Kokoro is a family owned restaurant that serves full meals during the daytime and acts as a tavern at night providing drinks and prepared snacks. It may come as no surprise that chefs in Japan, which is known for it’s beautiful cherry trees, also use the leaves of certain varieties of the tree for seasoning. But you may be surprised to know that the some 200 farms in Matsuzaki that specialize in those trees account for around 70% of the leaves used in Japan. Kokoro’s specialty is their deep-fried pork (tonkatsu) with their special cherry-leaf tonkatsu sauce. If the sound of “deep-fried” pork sounds like an overload in fat, then you have the wrong impression. Sakura’s tonkatsu is light, highly delicious and when dipped in their special sauce, will forever change you image of what “deep-fried” is really suppose to be about. Plan on spending ¥1000 ~ ¥2000 for a lunch complete with a salad, a main meal and trimmings, and a bowl of soup. The evening will be a bit more starting at ¥2000 on up depending on how much you eat and drink.
