Inashimo shrine is an extremely old Shinto Shrine with trees in it that date back more than a thousand years. A spring provides clear clean water that you are free to bottle and take with you, and, when drunk, lengthen your life according to local legend. Japanese Nō is also conducted from time-to-time in the shrine and local village festivals frequently occur here as well. The Shinto priest is an avid artist with the chainsaw shaping logs into various characters that are found throughout the premises. A path on the right side of the shrine property will take you to the top of the hill behind the temple where you will get a beautiful view of Matsuzaki with Mount Fuji in the background. A free small museum on the premises provides some interesting background information on the area.
