Business Details
A quiet place where you can relax on the terrace enjoying a blissful afternoon. At night you can enjoy a starlit sky as you bath in the outside Japanese style bath. And in between you can dine on some the finest prepared Japanese and Western meals.
Family owned and operated, Elbruz was opened by the Ogishima family in 2002. Choosing to leave the busy and crowded Kanto area of Japan for the natural beauty of the Kawazu area in Izu Peninsula, Hiroshi, his wife Rumi, and their daughter Hatsune bring warmth and life to the Elbruz.Hiroshi became a chef working his way through famous restaurants in the US and Europe. Upon returning to Japan, he turned down opportunities to chef for a major restaurant choosing instead to establish Elbruz. His culinary arts make each meal both a visual and succulent experience to remember.
Rumi is a well-known photographer in the area and can provide you with great advice on where and when to go to fill out your portfolio of photography.
Their lovely daughter, Hatsune, is away most of the time attending school, and when she is not there, her bright smile and attitude is missed by all.

Great food, great family, great hospitality
I have had the opportunity to stay at Elbruz three times and each time the stay only gets better. Hiroshi-san and Lumi-san are great hosts and great guides to the local area. The dining cannot get better. I only wish I could live here full time!
